Signal-background interference effects in Higgs-mediated diphoton production beyond NLO

In this paper we consider signal-background interference effects in Higgs-mediated diphoton production at the LHC. After reviewing earlier works that show how to use these constrain Higgs boson total decay width, provide predictions beyond NLO accuracy for and related observables, study impact of QCD radiative corrections on width determination. particular, so-called soft-virtual approximation estimate NNLO QCD. The inclusion reduce prediction cross-section channel by about 1.7%. We detail Higgs-boson line-shape its implications extraction. Assuming an experimental resolution 150~MeV interference-induced modifications line-shape, our analysis shows one could 10-20 times Standard Model value.
